P.B.I. has physical facilities of container storage property over 25 acres of container yards.
P.B.I. provides company owned tractors for repositioning your equipment between rail ramps and our facilities. Direct motor carrier service to and from shippers/consignees is provided by P.B.I. This assures customer to receive the best possible trucking rates.
As a neutral terminal, P.B.I. provides for customer's equipment availability, accurate and timely reporting, chassis pool availability, thorough inspections and documentation for third party claims should customer equipment be damaged during transport.
CY Services All P.B.I. depots are bonded. In Columbus, OH, the U.S. Customs Central Exam Station is located within 1/4 mile of our terminal. Charges for the handling of loaded units consist of two inspections and allotted free time. There are no other additional charges assessed. All loaded storage charges are for the account of the consignee, are per customer's tariff and are collected by P.B.I. and may be distributed to customer at the agreed upon rate. Flexibility As customer's volume increase, no single motor carrier can accommodate every container movement. By utilizing a neutral terminal such as P.B.I., customer has access to a multitude of tractors from various carriers controlled by P.B.I. to accommodate transportation needs. P.B.I. can also offer selected carriers the hours of operation they need to service customer, which may not be available at the yards of competitive truckers. Chassis Leasing Each of P.B.I.'s terminals has an inventory of Flexi Van, XTRA and other leasing company equipment to help fill your requirements during peak periods. During slower periods, equipment may be terminated in our yards to save money. Another advantage of utilizing all of our depots is our ability to monitor short-term leased chassis used in customer's Stack Train Service. As a neutral depot, P.B.I. would make sure all short-term leased chassis would be returned and off-hired before any of customer-owned equipment is moved. In that way, the decision would not be left to the discretion of a trucker. Reporting and Computer Capabilities With an one hour time difference between Chicago, the Ohio valley and East Coast, P.B.I.'s ability to provide direct computer input from all of our terminals directly into customer's computer would be a real benefit. Therefore, customer would always have the most current information available regarding their activity. |
